Over the past decade, no fewer than 43 Louisiana parishes have worked with prominent trial lawyers to sue oil and gas companies over questionable claims that their operations have caused coastal erosion issues south of the Mississippi River. Make no mistake: It isn’t just the state that is a plaintiff in these cases but Governor Landry himself. A May, 2024 decision by the United States 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in a case filed against BP, Chevron, Shell, and a variety of other defendants specifically lists the “State of Louisiana, ex rel, on Behalf of Jeff Landry” as the intervenor plaintiff in the action plaintiff in these cases.

Cosmetic surgeons try to correct ‘Ozempic face’ for weight-loss drug users

Add surgical tweaks to fix so-called “Ozempic face” to the list of top trending cosmetic procedures, as tallied by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
The group’s annual survey of its board-certified members found that blockbuster GLP-1 medications are having an impact on cosmetic surgeries by Americans.
“While these drugs are highly effective at achieving rapid weight loss, they often result in issues like volume loss and sagging skin,” Dr. Patrick Byrne, AAFPRS president, said in an academy news release. “As a result, more patients are turning to facial plastic surgery to address these aesthetic concerns.”
For example, facial cosmetic surgeons reported a 50% rise in the number of facial fat-grafting procedures undertaken throughout 2024, probably due to the effects of weight loss aided by GLP-1s.

And what happens if they quit using Ozempic? Majority of those that stop using it gain the weight back. How will that effect the plastic surgery? Vanity and quick fixes instead of lifestyle changes.
Ozempic and similar drugs are so new that the use of them for weight loss is still an unknown. Remember Phen-fen. Time will tell but people’s rush for weight loss quick fix can have lifetime worth of problems in patients. Sadly big Pharma is rolling in the dough while this is happening.
