I toured the Coliseum in Rome last October.
The guide said the whole thing was covered in Marble originally. However, after Rome fell and it was in ruin people came in a took almost all the marble out to use in the homes in and around the city. So, someones floor tile in their bathroom might have once been part of the Coliseum
