If you mean by "airdrop" you push them out of a plane then we shouldn't do that. Bulk transport by plane is much more expensive than by ship. There's a reason for all that containerized cargo moving around the word.
After WW II we quickly got millions of our troops home across two oceans using ships in Operation Magic Carpet. This would do it the same way except the ships would not make a round trip.
