To those more knowledgeable here, is there serious risk of one of these bird flu variants mutating into one that passes easily to humans and among humans? Or is it a very low risk and something to be aware of, due diligence preparing for what ifs, etc?

The risk occurs when someone with human flu is working with birds infected with avian flu. Then gene swapping can create a hybrid which is the most dangerous type of flu.

This is more common in China where people live in close proximity to their flocks.
