In his first remarks as President Donald Trump’s defense secretary, Pete Hegseth referred to two U.S. military bases by their former Confederate names, appearing to hint that he might possibly restore them.I'm pro-Union. I would prefer the names of Union Generals like Grant and Sherman.
Or how about someone more recent like Schwarzkopf?
But I'll trust Hegseth's judgment. We'll have to make a stand against "Wokeism". So if we have to rename those bases back to Fort Bragg and Fort Benning, so be it.

Bragg originally was a Mexican-American War hero, so that’s how he got an installation in his name.

See my post just above. I think it is important and valuable to remember those things.
Having someplace named after a Confederate General makes me think of how we were able to fight that war and come together as Americans after that. That means something to me. I believe it made us stronger.
