Per Reuters:
Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang said during an interview with CNBC on Thursday [of last week], without providing evidence, that DeepSeek has 50,000 Nvidia H100 chips.
The H800 chip, used by China and DeepSeek to train the R1 AI platform, is a downgraded version of the H100 with about half the interconnect bandwidth. While it retains strong AI processing power, its reduced performance makes it less suitable for cutting-edge, large-scale AI workloads.

But China wouldn't cheat, steal, or lie would it?
