President Trump’s nominees for Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and Director of the FBI will be facing confirmation hearings in the U.S. Senate this week.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is expected to face sharp questioning over his nomination to head the Dept. of Health & Human Services because of his skepticism toward the effectiveness of the federal food and medicine regulatory apparatus.
In particular, large numbers of employees of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have been preparing their letters of resignation for the past two months and say they will quit if RFK Jr. is confirmed as HHS Secretary.
Jessica Malaty Rivera is an advisor with the Debeaumont Foundation, she says she’s aware of “multiple employees” with agencies like the CDC who she says, “They refuse to work for this administration,” she says. “I understand it, but it’s terrifying. Because we don’t want to be in the position where everyone working at these agencies is anti-medicine, anti-science.”
As Secretary of HHS, Kennedy would have broad authority to oversee the operations of the CDC, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Food and Drug Administration.
Kennedy has faced criticism over his concerns regarding vaccine safety and for his book “The Real Anthony Fauci” which tracks the career path of the man who became the public face of the federal Covid response.
However, Kennedy has also attracted support from former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield who has recently partnered with him on evaluating the efficacy and safety of vaccines.
The threat of potentially hundreds of CDC employees quitting their jobs underscores the seriousness with which the Trump administration is going about correcting the mistakes of the previous administration.
Good, reduce the size of government staffing.
Can we hold them to it?
Bloated bureaucracy already...good!
Quit, ya’say? Um...well, OK. Sounds good to me.
WIN WIN, baby!
Wasn’t Redfeld the one who disagreed with Fauci on several things and claimed the virus was lab leaked? Seems he got pushed aside for all of that, IIRC
Don’t let the screen door hit you on your way out!!!
m’Kay.
Need the “well, bye then” meme, and a “good riddance “ meme too
Good! That’s the plan you corrupt bastards!
Where will those quitting find another job?
Bye Bye.
Good... They are exposing themselves as corrupt criminals and need to go.
How many will quit if he's confirmed, quits then confirmed again? /s
Idiots. Do they actually think Trump is going to nominate someone who will be just as crooked as they are? Their con gig is up no matter who he nominates, Kennedy or not...
Kind of like self deportation, a real time saver.
WINNING!
I do recall what RFK Jr. said about those of us who don’t buy into the climate alarmism, how we should be thrown into prison, etc.
But that said, it is clear Trump heard that too. I heard him joke at one of his rallies that he is going to have to keep RFK Jr. in that sandbox he creates for him, so he is aware of the danger that RFK Jr. may stray outside his lane instead of concentrating on the real danger of a weaponized HHS.
So Trump understands the issue. I expect he will keep his attack dog on a metal chain with a spiked collar and ensure his attacks are directed according to Trump’s own wishes instead of RFK Jr.’s own possible inclinations.
good riddance.
please confirm
And if he turns out to be a dud, he can be fired.
