As I always say, the Democrats are VERY SMART, far smarter than Republicans (no party that advocates the cutting off of the dicks of little boys should get more than 5% in a national election, but they’re still around 50%, and only because they’re smart enough to keep their voters diverted).
BUT, in this case, they were caught flat-footed. I suspect that they figured that Trump would write a few EOs, and then nothing much would happen. If the Dems had time to plan things, they would have been PRAISING Trump while he was rounding up the really bad ones, saying things like: “I don’t support deporting innocent immigrants, but killers and rapists have to go.” Then, as Trump starts working his way down the list, they’d be asking things like: “He did rob a bank, but no one was hurt”. Later, it would be: “They did break into cars, but does that really deserve deportation?”. Finally, for the other 80 to 90 percent with no criminal record inside of the US - they’d FULL BLAST at Trump, showing every illegal to be a doctor, engineer, business owner and ask: “I totally oppose Trump in his mass deportation of innocent Americans”.
(I realize some of my imaginary quotes are untrue, like calling them Americans, but truth doesn’t matter much to Democrats)
On our side, what ICE should do is set up a website, with daily updates, called “Deportation of the Day” and profile the worst person they picked up and tell Americans EXACTLY what they have done IN THIS COUNTRY...and maybe run ads on Twitter to that effect.
