That is exactly what Trump intends. Characteristically, when Democrats are in office, the inspector generals timidly nibble at the ends and edges of issues and then put out mild reports, usually long after the harm has been done. With Trump in office, the incumbent inspector generals were previously and would again be fonts of political hits and smears against him.
Not again. In his new term, Trump is going through the current federal bureaucracy like a developer clearing valuable real estate prior to rebuilding. New inspector generals will be selected and charged with digging through the federal bureaucracy for waste, fraud, and abuse. That is what they were intended to do in the first place.
