You are stretching the scenario. The whole point of conceal carry is self defense, often close in. A safety always on is very likely to leave one with a firearm that does not fire when needed in a stressful emergency. My point on combat is leaving a safety on is deadly which you dismissed saying it was not combat, you make my point, having a safety in self defense situation can be deadly to the person carrying. It was not about a solider in combat, it was the need to be ready.

The more you have to think about setting up your firearm in an emergency the more likely it will be useless to you when you need it.

Again I see your argument as nothing more than make a gun idiot proof and no one can do that. An idiot will always find a way.

We can differ on this but blaming the event on the lack of a safety more than an incompitent cop is just wrong.

Assuming a cop is competent in the face of overwhelming and deadly evidence otherwise, is foolish and risky.

Knowing there are incompetent cops who might Glock you in the leg with your own gun, why not carry a gun with a manual safety?

As far as we know, this driver has only been in one shooting - his own. All his training, whether it included Tueller drills or not, are now secondary to reality. He's 0 for 1 due to her incompetence and the thing most likely to have kept him at 0 for 0 was a manual safety.

This man is lucky to have survived. Having relatives of a deceased victim yell about how cops should know not to finger a trigger isn't going to bring back a dead victim.

Rule 1 and 2 of the Killhouse Rules apply:
1. Nobody is coming to save you.
2. Everything is your responsibility.

Carry a gun with a manual safety. Your skills and training are absolutely meaningless to Fumble Fingers the DEI hire...

...and they're hiring a lot more of her than they are of sane, sober, moral, and prudent people.

The moment the cops pulled him over, he was no longer in a self-defense scenario and didn't need a quick-draw to protect himself. He needed better cops (which he wasn't going to get) and a manual safety that was engaged.
