They don’t even have plows in Atlanta and DC.
If you know what you’re doing, you can drive in a few inches of snow. If there’s ice underneath it, it’s better to stay off the roads if you can.
For the inexperienced, slow down and leave extra space between your car and the one in front of you.
And for the experienced, stay off the roads because the inexperienced are out there.

I’m in central NC and we have plows, brines and salt.
We just had a 2” blizzard last week! :] We survived but they called or delayed schools for days...
Hate ice the most...if you see a freezing rain/snow line thru NC we are most likely on it!
I live in the Atlanta area. We have plows. They just don’t get the rural back roads until last. They do a decent job on main roads. We also have brining truck, they brined 60k miles of highway last snow a couple of weeks ago. Too many people don’t know how to drive in the snow or ice though.
I’ve live in New England for decades in the past and northern Ohio, Indiana, etc. It is dangerous to go out and about down here because of inexperienced drivers in the snow/ice, plowed or not plowed, brined or not.
