I don’t know who in his administration handles HR stuff, but when I was in HR, eliminating an entire position often was a good tool for taking out the trash. Then if you needed someone in that position, just wait three months, reclassify and rename the position, and advertise it. Yes. How many assistants to the assistants are there. Get rid of all the mid-level management titles that feel like they have authority when they are meant to be just worker bees. Sometimes, you gotta slash and burn to find out if there really is a problem.

Took close to 6 months each...I kept records of performance (and other actions they shouldn’t have been doing) and counseling statements...I was pleasantly surprised at ow helpful Civilian Personnel was during the process...the union on the base had fallen into disarray and was of no help to the members - probably because the ones active in it didn’t want their own dirty laundry exposed.

They’re extremely hard to fire. Best way to get rid of them is to eliminate their positions or seriously downgrade the job so they leave. DOGE should be able to help undo 0bama’s massively bloated federal civilian force.

That makes his job of firing them for insubordination easy.
