I looked up actuary tables. A woman her age who breaks her hip on the average only lives 2.7 years.
The average life expectancy for women in the U.S. is 79.1, and she's 84. So the broken hip bought her 2.7 more years.

The way actuary tables work depends on your current age, not some "average age". If you are 60 years old, odds are that you are likely to live to see 61 years old.
