Reform UK has grown in support to within one percentage point of Labour according to a new poll for Sky News by YouGov which suggests Britain has entered a new era of three-way party politics.

Sir Keir Starmer looks set to spend the parliament locked in a fight with two right-wing parties after Labour support dropped sharply in the first YouGov poll since the general election.

The data collected over the weekend puts Labour on 26%, Reform UK on 25%, Conservatives on 22%, Liberal Democrats on 14% and Greens on 8%.

It’s a start, but three party (or more!) systems are dodgy, IMHO.

They’d never allow that.

Well if you think the US system is odd consider that the UK now actually has basically a six party system. In addition to Labour, Conservatives, and Reform there are the Scottish and Welsh Nationalist parties which want varying degrees of independence and the Unionist party in Northern Ireland which absolutely does not want independence or union with the Republic of Ireland to the south. Labour polled about a third of the vote in the last election and thanks to the first across the line electiopn system garnered 2/3’s of parliament and is good to go for six years despite the fact that they are currently down to about 26%. It is roughly the equivelent of Joe Biden running for president and winning 2/3s of the House and Senate still being as popular as a turd in the punch bowl.

The Conservatives are not "right-wing." They'd rather keep Labor in power than form a coalition with Reform.

Farage is the dog who caught the car. He is a peerless orator who seems rather out of the room when it is time to get things done.
