I saw Sam Moore perform “Hold On, I’m Coming” in 1982. He was backed by Daddy-O, an all-white soul band, complete with brass instruments, that sounded just as good as the ones at the Motown or Stax/Volt diskeries. And he performed it just as he did with Dave back in the sixties.
He was a soul man.
