So is the idea of nepo-babies. If your parents have done their jobs, they will have passed on their knowledge to their kids, allowing a higher chance that their kids can find work.

Truckers often learned how to drive a truck on the backroads from their father as young teens. Pick a trade and many tradespeople learned from their fathers. Even university professors will have taught their kids how to succeed in the post secondary institutions. It’s how life works. Without nepo-babies and society essentially starts over every generation and not advance.

But I do appreciate his point about how emphasizing liberal priorities at the expense of readiness and competency.

the stellar performance by LAFD last night making a stand on the ridges above San Fernando Valley to keep Palisades Fire from entering this huge residential area belies this. as does the bravery of the Fire Chief to speak out against leadership’s desire to have “one voice” (Bass’s mantra).

For sure! If we live on a 5 billion year (+) old planet, and given all the geological and meteorological back-and-forth over the millennia, the impact of humans on the environment is puny!

The climate has been changing for 4.5 billion years. And there is nothing that we can do to stop it.
