“tipping is out of control in this country”
No kidding. The POS terminals now ask for 18%, 20% or 25% tip! I am backlashing, click “Custom” and leave 10%.
I pay cash all the time so I don’t get confronted with such nonsense.
The check out at the grocery store has a screen with buttons asking for contributions of 1 -100 dollars in $20 increments to some charity and McDonalds and Dairy Queen have options to round up your purchase “for charity”
Here is the scam on these charity “donations” - the store usually gets a commission , some time as much as 30%, for the fund raising on the money they generate. .
And a lot of the time the tip is for nothing more than making your food and handing it to you.
if I am standing to order and collect my own order from the counter I should get the tip. Not them.
if I get poor service the tip will be 0. that’s how you tell them the service sucked.
