'DEI' is 'DIE' from the scorched rubble of the California fire zone .
Is there a person on the planet that still believes that DEI is a good thing?
If there is, consider that person mentally or informationally handicapped.
While there are countless examples of why putting people in jobs for which competence, intelligence and courage under fire is the right thing to do, to say the least, hiring or appointing people on the basis of their minority/ethnic status, gender, and/or gender orientation, is downright dangerous.
No crisis has proven this true more blatantly than the California wildfires.
California has long been the primary lab experiment for progressive policies, all of which have proven to be failures; but progressive never admit failure.
The prog powers that be are never dissuaded from pursuing their version of a socialist Utopia, no matter how many tragedies they cause, no matter how many lives are lost. The fires that have cost what will easily amount to something over a hundred billion dollars in lost properties are just the latest, and perhaps the most serious wake-up call.
The left is a danger to us all. They do not care about individual lives. They do not care about property not their own.
Pacific Palisades was the perhaps the most idyllic example of the American dream. It is mostly a wealthy enclave but many people who lost their homes lived in modest houses, families who lived there, paid the monstrously high taxes, so their children could attend the city’s superb schools, most of which have now burned down.
It was a beautiful community, close to the beach, between Santa Monica and Malibu, home to countless celebrities who favored it over the fundamental snobbery of Beverly Hills.

Looking at what’s happened to Great Britain, it seems that we are nearing the stage of decay wherein the highest virtue becomes the only virtue. And that virtue is tolerance, now inclusiveness, soon-to-be idolatry.
The current object of our affection is the minority, the non-normal. But it could have been something else. All roads, paved with our good intentions, lead to idolatry. The idea is to get us to worship anything other than the Lord.
All cultures are equal, all perversions tolerable — no, now it’s the stranger the culture, the more welcome it is, and the more bizarre the perversion, the more we should exalt it.
Historically, this doesn’t turn around spontaneously. Civilizations are delicate.

A good friend of my grew up in PP and loved her life there. Her father was dentist. I was borderline envious of her because it sounded like she had lived in a ‘50s TV family.
If it weren’t for the fact that TPTB were lesbians there wouldn’t have been any purses to transport water. So there’s that.

Yes, I too spent my early years in So Cal and had many friends from the area. Much is being made of celebrities’ losses, but most of these were very old, well-established middle-class neighborhoods.
I prefer Gulf of Florida, but I’m partial that way.

A lot of people are actually not aware of this. And whites are a minority by a huge margin, accounting for only ~16% of the global population.

I don’t know who YOUR John Galt is, but mine is a guy who has now entered
his sixth decade of life and is really tired of trying to create successful businesses
in this leftist basket case of an idiocracy.
I am quite ready to retire - with the exception of being financially well-off
enough to do so. Keep working on it until I keel over dead probably.
But I’ve got to keep on working while not contributing to this demented society, if I am John Galt, right?
If I contribute a lot to this society, it will just enable - and give the society
justification to steal from me, so they have the means to impede me,
