Messing with the generator is currently a pain.
Here in NH, generator electrical panels are a thing and we didn't realize it until we were house hunting and looking at real estate listings.
Many pictures on those listings show off the generator panel for hook up during a power outage. Some of them are downright impressive.
I had that fully set up at my old house. Had an infeed on the back of the house, an interlock on the main panel, portable generator lived in a little hut under the deck.
I’ve moved and while I have great electric start portable, I have no infrastructure beyond a large supply of extension cords.
I’m working a serious addition for this house that will include a Generac fixed installation.
