Heading towards work in Glendale the 5 SB this morning was like descending into the gates of hell. Sky had the yellowish hue (reminded me of Hurricane weather, I’m originally from the East Coast) and there was a ton of black smoke but it was high and not hugging the ground. Very ominous and eerie looking. Didn’t smell the smoke until around noon today though.

I know what you mean. I’m closer to where it started and it must have all blown northwest rather than due south or slightly southeast.
Mid day the sky was even still blue.
It’s brown looking toward the mountain now.
