Bannon Calls On Trump To Rescind The Presidential Medal Of Freedom Awarded To Soros: ‘It’s A Disgrace’

Former Trump White House Chief Advisor Steve Bannon is calling on the president-elect to rescind the Presidential Medal of Freedom that was given to left-wing billionaire financier George Soros by President Biden on Saturday.

Soros was one of 19 recipients of the nation’s highest civilian honor after President Biden nominated him on Friday. Other recipients included Hillary Clinton, actor Michael J. Fox, children’s science presenter Bill Nye and four people who received the word posthumously, including Robert F. Kennedy Sr. and George Romney.

While Soros, 94, did not attend Saturday’s ceremony, his son Alex accepted the prestigious award on his behalf. The elder Soros has largely stepped away from politics over the last several years and placed Alex in control of his vast empire in 2023.

Over the past several decades, Soros has funneled more than $32 billion towards left-wing causes and candidates across the western world. The Soros empire primarily flows through his Open Societies Foundation, while the family has played a particularly outsized role in getting progressive district attorneys elected in America’s largest cities.

Shortly after Biden’s head-scratching list of nominees was announced, Bannon called on President-elect Trump to rescind the award when he takes office later this month.

“My recommendation to President Trump is that you notify today that you’re going to sign an executive order on Monday, one of the very first actions, is to rescind the Presidential Medal of Freedom that’s being given to George Soros today. Rescind it,” he said.

The “War Room” host went on to state that awarding the nation’s highest civilian honor to a “demonic” figure like Soros was disgraceful and serves to undermine the significance of the award. “It is a disgrace that a demonic individual like that has gone out of his way to try to destroy this country, destroy this country, would actually be given to mock this constitutional republic, to mock this constitutional republic, which he hates and is dedicated his life to destroying, that we would be presenting him, awarding him the highest civilian honor that you could give,” Bannon added.

“President Trump today ought to come out and say, ‘hey I’m putting out an executive order right after I take my hand off the King James.’ With everything else we got to do all stuff either number number one is going to be rescinding sources as a symbol. Rescind it.”

Almost all of the recipients are scum.

It would be nice if many of the factions quit telling Trump what to do. I doubt Trump is going to waste his time on nit picky stuff. Trump already made quite a comment on it.

Maybe all the bosses need to run for POTUS themselves.

He does that and they’ll rescind the one to Rush.

Yup. It is like all those Nobel Prizes and Pulitzer Prizes. It is a real award that took place in history, and rescinding it doesn't change the history. I attended a Catholic seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut. I despise Oliver Cromwell, but was not interested in changing the name in part because it represents the history of the area. O.J. Simpson is in the Pro-Football Hall of Fame. Whatever he did after that election does not change the fact. A bad vote or selection reflects on the people who made the choice. Let them have their cheapened medals. It means less and less.

That request would certainly seem reasonable but can it be done?

Why not posthumously giving a medal to Al Capone for his soup kitchens during the Depression?
