I find all of the pyramids fascinating. The pyramidion (capstone) for Amenemhat III’s pyramid was actually found near the site. It is made of black granite, ~6’ along each base, enscribed with heiroglyphs, and weighs ~4 tons.

A German Egyptologist found over 80 individual pyramids in the 1840s. To date, over 160 individual pyramid sites have been documented.

I almost used a pic of the pyramidion, it’s amazing that it in particular has survived the ravages of time, vandalism, and conquest. Only four are known, including two cases where the pyramids involved are long gone. :^)
