I lived in Houston for six years. Channelview is on the far east side, where all the refineries are. If you were driving on the east side of loop 610, you could smell the stench of them. Maybe inhaling all those chemicals got to them?

You never know. When I lived on the Clinch River directly across from Oak Ridge Lab (Manhattan Project), there was someone in every house in our development who had some sort of cancer — including me.
