The big problem is the icing they are forecasting. And the high winds, which will result in power outages.
And if an area isn’t equipped to deal with that much snow, yeah, it is a big deal.
If you don’t care, why come on the thread at all just to sneer at everyone who has to deal with this?
Yea they are saying there will be an ice storm. Power might go out.
So while going out for milk, bread and toilet paper make sure you have enough propane for you propane camping heater.
Agreed.
Power outages due to icing can be widespread and last for days.
Literally tons of ice can cling ho wires and cables causing breaks.
Ice on roads mean many vehicle sliding off, delays for emergency response.
4 wheel drive is very useful for snow but 4 wheels will slide on ice as easily as 2.
Power loss often means no heat as well.Another factor against the insane push for all electric everything.
Kerosene and propane heaters in good working order and a week’s worth of fuel is just prudent.Extra flashlight batteries, and battery powered am/fm(shortwave?) radio.
People who ridicule being prepared are ignorant.
right on
“The big problem is the icing they are forecasting.”
We were “iced in” for 10 days last January. Stayed cozy and all, but cabin fever was setting in.
