Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) claimed Thursday on MSNBC’s “The Last Word” that President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for FBI director, Kash Patel, has “nightmare views” that will “close the part of the FBI that helps protect us” against foreign terrorism.
Whitehouse said, “Remember the history of all of this. We, for a long time as Americans, have made the determination that we did not want the CIA and other American intelligence agencies operating within the United States against Americans. And the FBI had a criminal law enforcement responsibility, and it was focused on terrorism primarily as a criminal act.”

At the very least, the FBI should be relocated AWAY from the nation’s capital, say like St. Louis, Missouri, a near-central geographical location, for reasonably balanced access to the American Public they are supposed to protect, not only the Deep State Democrats and RINOs that are a protected species in the Washington, DC, region.

“The FBI protecting us against foreign terrorism”, the rationale for the Patriot Act, has been turned on its head (as was inevitable), and has been turned into a modern Alien and Sedition Act for use against anyone who becomes a political opponent dangerous to the people in power.
Appointing someone who won’t use the Patriot Act this way (like Kash Patel) doesn’t solve the problem, because the pending Administration will not always be in office.
The Patriot Act should be repealed, all administrative agencies and structures created under it should be dissolved, the borders should be closed and any non-vetted visa holders (and, obviously, anyone present inside the country without a valid visa or work permit) should be expelled.
The term “domestic violent extremist” should be eliminated from law enforcement vocabulary. This idea of a person expressing politcal views protected by the First Amendment as an “extremist” is subjective and beyond the scope of any legitimate law enforcement.

This guy is as full of it as a Christmas goose. The FBI is not going to shut down and not do their job. There are contingencies in place to continue the job with everyone in place and his slot covered. I guess the libs feel anything they try to throw at the wall can stick no matter how stupid it is.
