> I heard that.....Mexican quality perhaps? <
Awhile back I was at a dealership looking at new Ford Mavericks. But I’ve read in many places to avoid anything made in Mexico.
Well, okay. The smiling salesman assured me that all of the Mavericks on their lot were made in the good old USA. I went browsing on their lot.
Every Maverick there was made in Hermosillo, Mexico. Said so right on the sticker.
I know a car salesman wouldn’t lie to me. So I can only conclude that the United States has invaded and annexed the city of Hermosillo.
“I know a car salesman wouldn’t lie to me.”
Oh no never. Lol!
In 2015 my wife was thinking about getting a new SUV, GM was in the middle of a recall for an ignition issue so I tried to steer her away from them but she wanted to see them anyway.
Armed with the knowledge of the recall we went to the dealership.
While we were looking at the very vehicle that was on the recall list I asked the salesman about it......his reply:
“It’s ONLY a safety recall”
When my wife heard that she looked at me and said “OK, let’s go”. Lol!
Regardless the source, they went cheap.
Any failed fuel pump, always buy the pricier one (dealer preferred). Price is nearly always the tell, especially in the aftermarket.
Trust me. Anything else gets you broken down on the road in 1-2 years again and rinse/repeat (there go the ‘savings’).
