Is there any historical record of Pontius Pilate after the crucifixion? I always thought surely he would come to faith after the resurrection, maybe even see the Risen Jesus.

There is not a lot of good evidence regarding him.

He apparently violently suppressed an uprising of Samaritans, which got him in trouble with Rome. He got recalled and probably was forced into retirement. That’s all that is known with certainty.

By most contemporary accounts, he was a typical douchebag bureaucrat who dithered and acted in his self interest before fading into obscurity. In short, look around DC and you’ll see 10,000 of him.

There are lots of probably fictional stories about him, generally originating in Italy several hundred years later, that try to recast him as an eventual covert, but I view this as Roman guilt and revisionist history.
