Must be. I'm a divorced, 77 year old woman who raised two sons on my own. Worked full-time days, and went to college at night. Got hired by NY State, and had to move myself and my kids 2 1/2 hours away in order to take the job. When my kids were young, I would have loved to have owned my own home, because we had to move so often, but I couldn't afford it back then. If I'd had the money for the down payment and monthly mortgage payment, I wouldn't have been able to afford the maintenance, so why buy a house? By the time I was making decent money, my sons were grown and out on their own, so I didn't need to own a house. It irks me to no end to know that with my taxes, I've probably helped pay so these ingrates can have things I never had.
