Regardless of how "vitally important" Greenland is to the U.S., the U.S. has no right to take it.
It seems half the time, conservatives are shaking their finger at mean imperialists for invading countries that don't belong to them.
The other half the time, conservatives are pushing to expand the empire because ... Merica!
I don’t understand why we need to take Greenland from Denmark and it’s certainly not because of “climate change”.
We have never been enemies with Denmark.
We never should have given it back to Denmark after the end of WW2. And should another world war break out or should China make its move, we will have to take it again to protect it. Denmark will not be able to protect Greenland from China anymore than it was able to protect it from the Nazis. The US is the super power and Greenland should be ounder our jurisdiction. Better to do it now than have to fight China after they take it from Denmark.

Who said anything about taking it? We’ll buy it fair and square.
You have to act in national interests
At some point the mineral and fossil fuel wealth there will need to be tapped more
It’s too close to us to let a true rival get it
China would love it
They need the oil exponentially more than Putin does
The climate argument I’m skeptical
