The former Bolling AFB is directly east across the river from the southern end of runway 33 of Reagan National. There is a major helo refueling facility there for all the military helos in the DC area.

I have seen the helos used for Marine One refueling there when I had to go over to DIA HQ at Bolling. JB Andrews is only about 5 miles to the ESE of Bolling.

From what you describe some terrible communications going on then that had the two aircraft in the area especially at night. (Guessing)

How much information will they allow given a military heli involved?

Takes the headlines away from the hearings. Reinforces my reason to avoid flying even more.
