Seriously, Doug O'Donnell is serving as the Acting Commissioner of the IRS right now?? The Trump Administration needs to fix that *ASAP.*
O'Donnell was a key player in retaliating against IRS whistleblower Joe Ziegler. When SA Ziegler wrote to his entire chain of command up through Commissioner Werfel to make protected disclosures about the Hunter Biden tax investigation, O'Donnell had the email intercepted and deleted. He used the fact that Ziegler referenced the Hunter Biden case name to gin up a spurious referral to DOJ.
O'Donnell then oversaw the IRS sending a gag email to Ziegler intimidating him and telling him to follow his chain of command going forward--an email @US_OSC found violated the law.
I know O'Donnell is a big proponent of DEI, but writing that SA Ziegler "presented as a whistleblower" (like it's some sort of gender identity) is ridiculous. Get this guy out of IRS leadership.
