I don't believe the driver chose or loaded the explosive materials in the bed of the truck; he likely didn't know it was there. I was shocked at how quick the denizens of DU were to pull apart the story and find it suspicious, with several pointing out that with his training, he wouldn't have put this particular attack together using fireworks etc.
After I wrote that post I continued to think that as the DUers pulled the story apart, whomever did put this attack together wanted the public to see the inconsistencies - too obvious. I suppose that could be a demonstration of their control - 'We can take MAGA and weaponize them.' But in this case, the 'weaponization' of the man was limited to suicide-I think he was otherwise innocent. But to control like that you have to override natural survival instinct. Very powerful.
So perhaps the threat is also -'We can control people you trust' (if they gain access).
