Maybe he wore it to mock Hillary and her gang of lame resistors.
Purple is considered a royal color and is associated with power and authority. When the Roman soldiers wanted to mock Jesus for the charge of being King of the Jews they dressed him in a purple robe and took turns hitting him. And to think that he did that for us.
I had heard that purple was supposed to be the color of Hillary’s “color revolution.” Same as the Maidan overthrow was the orange revolution, the Philippines was yellow, etc.
