In an interview with Bari Weiss of The Free Press, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) stated that President Biden was the worst president in the country's history. Johnson stood by his statement, explaining that he had no personal animus toward Biden. He added that he felt sorry for Biden, who he believes has not been in charge for some time. As an example, Johnson relayed a story about a meeting he requested with Biden in January 2023. Johnson, who became Speaker in October 2022, said there were national security concerns he wanted to discuss with Biden. After eight or nine weeks of being denied a meeting, Johnson said he went to the press corps to report that the president would not meet with the Speaker. After the press put pressure on the White House, Johnson was invited to meet with Biden. When he arrived at the White House, Johnson realized it was an ambush. In attendance were Vice President Harris, Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, the CIA director, and others. Johnson stated that it was an attempt to “hotbox the Speaker on Ukraine funding.” During the meeting, Biden asked for a few minutes alone with Johnson, which surprised some of the staff in the room. After everyone left, Johnson said he thanked Biden for his time and explained that he had some important national security matters to discuss. Johnson then asked Biden why he paused LNG (liquified natural gas) exports to Europe. Johnson said that Biden looked at him stunned and said, “I didn’t do that.” When Johnson insisted that he did, via executive order, Biden argued with him. Johnson then asked if he could ask his secretary to print the executive order so they could read it together. According to Johnson, Biden said, “Oh, you’re talking about natural gas?” Biden then clarified that he had signed something to conduct a study on the effects of LNG. Johnson insisted that Biden had paused LNG exports to Europe, explaining that it was fueling Vladimir Putin’s war machine. Johnson concluded by saying that Biden genuinely did not know what he had signed, which left Johnson with “fear and loathing.”— Apple Lamps (@lamps_apple) January 18, 2025
Why did he wait until now to disclose this?
Why didn’t Speaker Johnson speak up at that time to protect the country?
wow...thanx for that.
geeze louise...so I went looking for the Bari Weiss interview.
What I found on the Free Press is an Eli Lake as an article originator with a video (that doesn’t play), of the Bari Weiss interview.
Lake credited, with a caveat, the WSJ as the originator.
I wonder if i need to be subscribed to The Free Press to view the video.

Hidenbiden had dementia back in 2020 way before the election.
I think Johnson waited till now to tell the LNG story because up to now he wasn’t sure of staying Speaker.
