I remember Walter Cronkite being known as the most trusted man in the media. What a con! I even remember how I hung on CNN when my son was in Desert Storm. It was so easy to trust and believe then. I quit trusting the media thanks to Bill Clinton and his BS but Trump really opened my eyes to how deep the lies really are. The treachery is almost beyond most normal people’s ability to fully grasp.
Linda, you didn’t shut your dad out of your life over his comments as so many have done to those of us who refused to take the clot shot. You were still his loving daughter with a different opinion than his. You did well speaking your truth in a loving context.
Re Dads:
You said it better than I did...and more sweetly.
My dad used to introduce me to his friends by saying, “This is my oldest daughter. Can you believe she’s a Republican?”
His generation grew up under FDR and saw him as a savior who brought them out of the Depression they suffered as kids, and through the war they suffered as teens/young adults. They couldn’t imagine being anything but Democrat after having grown up during his four terms with no memory of any other President.
CNN lost me way back when Bernie Shaw couldn’t explain WTF he was doing in Irag?
Thank you, nclaurel. I’m laughing because I had forgotten until just now that I ended up handling the situation exactly as he had taught me when I was young. I stopped responding to only the unpleasant emails and figuratively “walked away” from them, thinking he was a dumbass in that one peculiar way. Sorry Dad. He had a good sense of humour, so I think he’d be laughing at that too if he was objective.
