I’m sure that there are more than that. As a reference point, the city of Cleveland, Ohio has 774 employees (as of 2018), 25 stations, 5 battalions, couple of fire boats. Granted, not all 774 of those employees are firemen, but then again, Cleveland is a lot smaller than LA, and all the surrounding suburbs have their own fire departments.

The county in which Cleveland sits has 51 individual fire departments. Some wit only 1 station, some with as many as 5.

All that said, I would think that California would have more like 75000 firefighters, not 750.

Yeah, hard to believe. Maybe it’s LA county. Although that’s insane too.
