I’m not saying Oswald didn’t kill JFK. I am saying that the whole thing is surrounded by legitimate question marks.
1. Jack Ruby gets close enough to kill Oswald before Oswald can be properly interrogated. And Ruby is a known mob associate.
2. The JFK files get sealed. Not just for 10 or 20 years, but evidently in perpetuity. We have no right to that information, even now.
3. Then there is the Dorothy Kilgallen thing (my post #24).
Oh, and one more thing. The FBI and the CIA have richly earned their reputation as deceivers of the American public. So that’s part of the equation, too.
Did you ever watch the film of Ruby killing Oswald? There were hundreds of people there. Ruby was a regular at that spot. He owned a strip club and lots of cops used to go there. He was at the police station often seeing his buddies or bailing one of his strippers out.
As to the “mob associate” part, I don’t know what that means. I guess you could call me a “ mob associate “ because back in my younger days I used to hang out in some of the same clubs and bars as mobsters. They were the most fun places to hang out in. The cops hung out in those same places. Does that make them mob associates.
Ruby owned a strip joint. Mobsters and cops hung out there. Big deal.
IIRC Dorothy was investigating the mob hit angle. She was about to go to New Orleans and interview some mob associates about it when she “tragically overdosed”. (I’ve read the details of her death and they stink to high heaven).
For anyone not in the know of THIS story, it goes something like this: Joe Kennedy makes a deal with the mob that if they help get Jack elected, then JFK will leave them alone while he’s in office. The mob pulls some dem worthy shenanigans in a few states, and gets him elected. He then appoints RFK as AG who promptly announces that he’s going to bust up the mob. The mob feels betrayed by this and orders a hit on JFK and later RFK as well for retribution.

Dorothy also rubbed a lot of DC big shots the wrong way; in particular, J Edgar Hoover. Days before the Warren Report was presented to a joint session of Congress, DK leaked the report in her nationally syndicated column. I was ten when JFK was shot, and I only remembered her from “What’s My Line” That said, she led an amazing life. Her biography was a great read.
