I would imagine Gretzky is universally loved in Canada by all Canadians, if he ran for Prime Minister, he would immediately lose about half the country that would turn on him.
Even if he could win, he may not want to put himself and family thru the meat grinder that is politics.
Isn’t it a parliamentary system? One where you have to win the party leadership role and then carry your party to victory and maybe put together a coalition of other parties? Maybe I got it wrong but seems that Polliere (sp?) fellow has the edge. All I know is that the rumored/joked about Castro bastard child has got to go. He seems horrible, dictatorial almost, punitive against his rivals or unions that protest his decisions, freezing bank accounts etc. No good. Guy has gotta go.
