Well, at least we know who the Gog of Magog is now...

Putin can’t even take his own Ruissian town of Kursk, let alone protect his allies in Syria.

Erdoğan’s militant Islamism had earned him a conviction in 1998 for inciting religious hatred. He had publicly read an Islamist poem including the lines:

“The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets and the faithful our soldiers…”

He was sentenced to 10 months in jail but was freed after four months.

“Putin can’t even take his own Ruissian town of Kursk, let alone protect his allies in Syria.”

When did Ukraine take Kursk? Last time I looked they had a couple hundred square miles of countryside in the Kursk Oblast, not the city of Kursk.

“he would like to take a few million “refugees” into turkey”

I believe Turkey has about 2 million Syrian refugees the EU helps pay for.

The fakestinians were an invention of the Soviet KGB in the 1960/70’s. But Erdogen is very very very dangerous nonetheless

Of course this will score points with his constituents.

But as a factual matter the Turks - like the Muslims and Romans who preceded them - were the original colonialists. The Israelis were there before any of them. For sure Jerusalem does not belong to the Turks, who lost their empire in WW I. Erdogan seems to be taking a play from Putin’s book in trying to resuscitate the past. Not gonna happen.

I want Constantinople back. I also want the desecration of Hagia Sophia stopped and returned to its rightful owners, Christ and the Virgin Mary.

True that. And don't forget that before WW1, during the waning years of the Ottoman Empire, lots of European Jews bought land in Israel from the Ottoman land owners. If anyone is interested, look up Palestine Land Development Company, and the Jewish National Fund. They often paid $1,000 per acre of arid land, while rich soil land in Iowa sold for $110/acre.

By 1875, Jews were the majority in Jerusalem according to a Turkish census.

Erdogan regards himself as the representative of Muslim civilization, as the partner, patron, and protector of the the Muslim world. He seeks to reestablish Turkish influence in areas that in the past were part of the Ottoman Empire. Erdogan emphasized this point more than once, describing as “sisters” a series of cities that the Ottoman Empire ruled in the past......“The world must know and understand, that Ramallah, Nablus, Jericho, Rafah, Gaza, and Jerusalem, are sister cities and their residents are our brothers.” Thus, Erdogan links the 'distant vision of the caliphate' with his current, central concern for Palestine, Jerusalem.

2020 he said this...

As soon as Syria fell I shared with a friend of mine - now watch Turkey’s Erdogan make a move.

Partly correct.

Jerusalem was owned by the Ottoman Empire of which Turkey is a fragment.

You lost a war.

You signed away any claim you had to a great deal of territory.

Get over it.

I think they already are. We visited Turkey last year and our tour guide said no one even knows how many people live in Istanbul now, and was irked to see immigrant Arab women in burkas. Said he didn’t recognize his own country anymore. He did not like Erdogan

I”m glad we went when we did.
