I knew he was developing dementia before the 2020 election. Anyone who has been close to dementia patients knows that look. It’s hard to describe, but even in the earliest stages, they have that look. And he had it.I noticed the same. Joe would always refer to things in far past of his life pretty accurately when he was not lying. Recent events in his life were vague at times. This is classic senile dementia. I saw this in my grandfather and patients at the VA.

Yes, true, and good observation. I saw the same in my own loved one with dementia whom I cared for, as well as other dementia patients. He could also discuss very complex scientific stuff and leading scientists in his field still sought his advice for some time.
