From what I’ve read, depending on the value of the stolen goods, 3 years in prison and/or a fine of half a million yen for anything over $90. If value is $9K (1 million yen) or more, 10 years in prison and/or a fine of 5 million yen. Prosecutors have a 99% conviction rate. Prison is dormatory style and may require labor. Besides the family/ancestor honor thingy, there’s the realization that future job prospects are in the trash since potential employers do check criminal backgrounds. So even tho there is shoplifting and burglaries like any urban area, the cultural deterrants are strong.

You’re probably right, homogeneous societies are strong societies and very difficult for the Globalists to control. If Trump REALLY wants to help Japan shake off the shackles of Globalist colonization, then he needs to move our embassy in Tokyo into a much smaller building, with about 10% of today’s staff - as the other 90% are only there as colonizers, working with the media, NGOs, etc.
