That true case was later chronicled in testimony to then Congresswoman Nancy Mace.
Story:
One of the most striking claims from Salas is regarding an incident at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, where he said something suddenly disabled ten warheads. (March, 1967).

The then-26-year-old lieutenant reported that the control over the Minuteman I intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) was totally gone. The following day the systems showed no signs of damage and were functioning again as usual.
“No equipment was fried. Nothing was damaged,” he stated.

I believe there were similar incidents in leaked reports out of USSR about the same time. I don’t remember what the international situation was at the time.
