But wouldn’t it have made more sense for him to take the coach aside and tell him that he can’t play, ask to be taken out of the game, etc? And spend the rest of the game on the bench? It seems he just decided to walk off the field and say “That’s it. I’m done with football.”

” An the 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who played in his first game last night since the Super Bowl, was injured walking onto the field in the Super Bowl.”

I didn’t know that. Poor guy — injured just WALKING onto the field!?

Yes, it would have made more sense. The way he did it was terrible. He also could have told them he was injured. The way he did it was one of the worst, and especially for himself.

All I can say is, when you have been good at something all your life, and your body fails you, some people may have an identity break.

I don't know if that's the reason, it's just informed speculation on my part. I think he believed last year, it was the defensive scheme.

Yes, I've never seen anything like it. As he made his way onto the field, he just collapsed. And this is a guy who would never quit. An energizer bunny.

And to weeks ago, the running back Christian McCaffrey flopped down untouched during a play. Everyone knew it must be an injury.
