“This is the smoking gun because they (canines) are not really going after salmon in the wild,” archaeologist Ben Potter, University of Alaska Fairbanks.

I took my dog, a chow mix, out to the river (long time ago now).
I was so surprised to see him standing over a shallow part of a stream, to suddenly submerge his snout into the stream and come back up with a fish in mouth, tilt back his head and swallow it. Looked just like those bears that get a salmon and eat one.
