I read decades ago that they had. South America. Reader’s Digest even had an article about it and them offering up a youth to the Phoenician gods.
I think I remember that article, referred to a tablet purportedly found in a South American river, with a short inscription from a Phoenician ship captain. Lost of course, but not before it was recorded. Naturally I can’t turn it up on the web right now.
