Netflix also cancelled a Ben Stiller stand up. Stiller wanted to do 10-15 minutes about politics and Netflix didn’t want that. They got to loggerheads and ultimately cancelled. Joy Behar also got her gig cancelled.
Some of this is definitely “writing on the wall” they don’t want politics to push away half their audience, and some of it is also just leverage. These people are not worth the money or the trouble and the studios are putting them back in their place. For $25 million +++ whatever it costs you can produce 20+ stand up video specials with younger comedians trying to get a break.
Just like most Leftists, they only come to this conclusion long after the vast majority of the damage has been done. Netflix is now the Obama Network, and everyone knows it. Anyone with any sense left long ago, after the kiddie porn movie "Cuties" made headlines in 2020.
