My Dad’s Army Air Forces bomber group on their way to the Philippines, stopped at Pearl Harbor a couple of months after the bombing and my Dad told me that some of the ships were still smoking from the attack.

The last surviving Pearl Harbor warship was The Coast Guard Taney, the government got their money’s worth out of that thing, USCGC Taney was commisioned in 1936 and decommisioned 12/07/1986, served throughout WWII and was in Japan for the surrender, now a museum ship in Baltimore.
