If I’m going to crank up the music to 11, even at my old age, I tune in to classic rock. I love my old 70s music and will not give it up.
Try this newer stuff with an Old School vibe, written by me. It's off my upcoming fourth album, which is a concept album based on the Ten Commandments. Crank it to at least "12" but I recommend "22."
Like you, I grew up with rock & roll long before it became “classic”. If I ever gave it up, what would I be giving it up for? The FM radio stations we had in Detroit were the best: 99.5 WABX, 106.7 WWWW (”W4”) and 101.1 WRIF. Plus, there was 88.7 CJOM in Windsor, Ontario. Yeah man, we sure had it good back then.
Yep - I used newsgroups to download a boatload of music from the 50s-90s, including blues and jazz...right now, I have the VLC media player tuned into “retro rarities” which plays a lot of the music you describe...
Lol- yep, me too- I’ll even listen to,60’s from time to time- way better music in my opinion
A song that shares our sentiment:
Verse 1]
Just take those old records off the shelf
I’ll sit and listen to ‘em by myself
Today’s music ain’t got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll
[Verse 2]
Don’t try to take me to a disco
You’ll never even get me out on the floor
In ten minutes I’ll be late for the door
I like that old time rock and roll
[Chorus]
Still like that old time rock and roll
That kind of music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock and roll
