Yes, and at the overall high cost of medical care, especially that provided by hospitals. Of course, the insurance people love those high costs.
Why was I billed around $10,000 for an hour in the hospital for cataract surgery? Why that crazy price since our wonderful insurers negotiate it down and then pay most of the rest?
I’m having a corneal transplant next month. Had to switch insurance companies to get the $4,000 cornea paid for. United Health Care would pay for the surgery but not the cornea. And the stupid rules say I can’t pay for it myself. How crazy is that?
Fortunately, I was able to find a company that does pay for it, so I’ll be OK.
