The assassination of UnitedHealthcare executive Brian Thompson has triggered tasteless celebrations and bad taste support for the gunman who killed him.
Mr Thompson was shot outside the Hilton Hotel in Manhattan on Wednesday morning by a masked assassin, who remains on the run and whose motive has not been disclosed.
As news of the cold-blooded killing spread, thousands declared they were happy at news of the horrific killing of the 50 year-old father of two and even cooed over the murderer's apparent good looks.
The moderators of the r/medicine forum had to close a Reddit thread after news of Mr Thompson's death collected more than 500 replies, often critical of UnitedHealthcare. The top comment, from a nurse, was a lengthy parody of a template response denying pay-out for the victim.
'We understand that you were actively “bleeding out,” but this does not exempt you from exploring lower-cost care pathways,' the post said.
UnitedHealthcare, the biggest health insurer by market share in America, was rocked by protests over the alleged systematic denial of pay-outs to patients earlier this year.
Authorities found three live bullets and three spent casings at the scene, which they said had the words 'depose', 'deny' and 'defend' scrawled on them.
This drew comparison to the similarly titled 2010 book 'Delay, Deny, Defend' - a scathing criticism of 'why insurance companies don't pay out and what you can do about it' - and sparked wide speculation online.

“..Fauci has better protection than the SS gave Trump...”
True. The rotten SOB doesn’t deserve it and even that may soon change.
And as a side note, NO amount of “protection”, other than the blood of Christ, is gonna save his evil arse from busting hell wide open.
The ultimate solution is to submit to the authority of God’s Word, and a culture will be changed so that men will be ashamed to be dishonest.

That’s right!!
I’m exactly as sad and outraged as I am when a looter or carjacker meets *their* just fate.
Good luck finding 12 people who don’t hate health insurance companies!
With due notation that what was said about Oswald right after JFK was also a lot of disinformation too.
And yet immediately we heard arcane details about Lee Oswald's life. I've got to find that book you recommended "Heritage of Stone". Thank you.
“ The health-insurance industry is ONLY operating within the hairball system of rules, regulations and state-directed cronyism that the likes of Obama and Pelosi, leftists/progressives in Congress, and particularly, bureaucrats in FDA and HHS, have created”
You are 100% right
I’m pulling for him.
After the COVID BS I lost all resect for the Healthcare Industry and do not trust doctors anymore. I will not take any injection and research every drug the doc wants to prescribe. I have found effective alternatives to all of it.
My doctor is the Medicare doc and I have to go see hmm now every six months. I take no pharmaceuticals and he has quit trying to goad me into COVID and flu shots.

The leftist elite is able to provide for their own medical needs without having to deal with corporation doctors and Government Health.
a blast from the past, an oldie but a goodie...
kill the rooster, scare the monkey...
That’s very good.
There is a certain patina of relevance there.
The last word must be given to Jack Ruby. Whether he directly fingered Lyndon Johnson as the guiding force in Kennedy's murder and therefore the coup d' état is up for debate. When Jack Ruby was asked in his jail cell who killed John Kennedy, he cryptically responded by saying read J Evetts Haley's book. Although he didn't name the book, he was referring to A Texan Looks at Lyndon. If one reads the book, one will not find any references linking LBJ to the murder of JFK. What one does find interesting is that on March 27, 1952 a good friend of Lyndon Johnson was found guilty of first degree murder by a jury in West Texas. Attached to the verdict was a five-year suspended sentence. Jack Ruby attempted to make the broader point that in Texas political power can make all things possible even getting a way with murder.
The book referenced can also be found on the internet archive.
I live in Israel and am fairly happy with our healthcare.
It has its flaws but overall it works. I cant imagine what my costs would be if i lived in the states.
I think there is more to this then possible being denied healthcare by that company.
Maybe the wife hired someone to kill him or his partners in crime did so. This killer was in town for 10 days waiting for him. Why not just kill him back in his hometown?
I think because that would bring suspicion on to the wife or partners.
The killer was not too clever as he stayed at a hostel and left DNA and showed his face and left behind the clothes and backpack to be found and used an unusual gun to kill.
